MetaTrader is available as a desktop build for macOS. Installed, it holds chart templates, indicator settings and window layouts between restarts, which pays off on a Mac that sits on one desk through the London and New York hours.
A MacBook carried between home and office is a weaker case for installing. It sleeps when the lid closes, it is opened in short bursts, and a full terminal on it duplicates what a browser tab already does. The browser platform opens from the Personal Area with no install and leaves nothing on the machine, which also makes it the sensible choice on a shared or company-owned Mac.
Neither route locks the account in. The same sign-in works in both, so an installed Mac terminal and a browser session on another device describe the same positions. Interface language is chosen inside the platform rather than inherited from macOS system settings.
